Menopause is a natural phase in a woman’s life but many myths still abound. Dr. Siobhan Dolan and Dr. Carol Fucigna, leaders of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Stamford Hospital, are lifelong advocates for women's health and will present an overview of the many health issues women may face as they move through menopause. Using data and best practices from the North American Menopause Society (NAMS), Dr. Dolan and Dr. Fucigna will present the facts and dispel the myths and encourage an open conversation about this important topic.
Siobhan Dolan, MD, MPH, MBA, is Chair of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Stamford Health. Board-certified in obstetrics, gynecology, and clinical genetics, Dr. Dolan received her medical degree from Harvard Medical School, completed her residency in OBGYN at New York Hospital-Cornell Medical Center and Yale-New Haven Hospital, and did her fellowship in clinical genetics at Albert Einstein College of Medicine and Montefiore Medical Center. Dr. Dolan is building an innovative program at Stamford Health by integrating genetics and genomics into all aspects of care to provide truly personalized medicine.
Dr. Carol Fucigna is a physician with a 20-year career in obstetrics and gynecology. Her practice encompasses all aspects of obstetric and gynecologic care from adolescents to post-menopausal women with a special interest in managing peri-menopause and helping women through the menopausal transition. Dr. Fucigna is the Vice Chair of the Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology at Stamford Hospital and an Associate Clinical Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Columbia University.
