At Weir Farm Brian will draw from life using graphite/charcoal and ink wash in various studies of
the fundamentals as an exercise for increasing his ability to depict what he sees in
two dimensions. He will also plan to carve one small head out of wood each day. And the latter part of the day he will
reserve for delving into his painting, exploring and refining his current
process.
Weir Farm's Artist-in-Residence program (AIR) selects twelve artists to
live and work at Weir Farm each year. To date, over 200 artists from
throughout the U.S., as well as Tunisia, Germany, Australia, India and
the Netherlands have participated in the AIR program. Visual artists
apply for one month residencies in all media and diverse artistic points
of view from traditional to experimental.
