Laurie Newkirk and her mother Marlou Newkirk had their issues rise to the point that 12 years ago Laurie co-founded a website motherrr.com (with 3 r’s) that focuses on healing this dynamic relationship. The site has gained an international following and won many awards. Mothers and daughters have responded from all over the world expressing surprise and gratitude to find out they were not alone in their struggles.

Laurie & Marlou will share how they healed their relationship and discuss strategies that have helped them and others. Topics will include handling criticism, advice giving, boundaries, humor, and finding forgiveness. In addition, they will address how the holidays can put added stress on the relationship and what to do to relieve it.

As the co-founder of motherrr.com, Laurie Newkirk has appeared on radio and TV talk shows, taught workshops and received numerous awards for her writing. Marlou Newkirk has a doctorate from Columbia University in education and recently won two CT Press Club awards.
