Recycled Crafts for Kids

3:30 PM - 5:00 PM

Event Details

Please note our new time from 3:30pm - 5pm! Kids ages 8 - 12 are invited to join this crafting class hosted by Fiona Conway. Fiona is an upcoming 11th grade Girl Scout completing her Gold Award. In this class kids will make crafts out of recycled materials that you find around the house that would otherwise be thrown away and contribute to pollution. This class will be held on Zoom for an hour and a half every Thursday from July 8th- August 26 (no class August 19.) You can sign up for some classes, all classes, or just one if you prefer. If you plan to take this class, start gathering and saving materials for the next couple weeks including egg cartons, cardboard, scrap paper, popsicle sticks, used straws, and anything else you think could be used in a craft. For our first week, we will be doing crafts with egg cartons, so make sure to get those. Fiona will email parents before classes each week to update on materials we will need for that week. Any other materials may include pipe cleaners, glue, markers or paint, but each craft can be personalized so no specific thing is required. During classes, Fiona will be instructing the kids how to do the craft, and they can follow along or go in their own creative direction. Fiona will also be integrating facts and doing small lessons on why reusing materials and protecting the environment is so important. Looking forward to seeing you there! Registration required. Zoom link will be sent the day of the program. Questions? Email Fiona at fionaconwaygs@gmail.com
