Join us in the Brubeck Room for a look at the influence of Japanese art and culture on French and American Impressionism, presented by ArtScapades.  This lecture begins with a look at two of Japan’s master printmakers, Hokusai and Hiroshige, and will then move on to discuss their influence on well-known names of the Impressionist movement including Claude Monet, Edgar Degas, Mary Cassatt, William Merritt Chase and Childe Hassam.

Robin Hoffman and Jodi Stiffelman, of ArtScapades, began teaching art appreciation in 1998.  They have presented at libraries and museums in Connecticut, Massachusetts, New York, and Florida.
