Part one of this two-part series, presented by Mike Ingber, will focus on the types of threats and scams that exist, what the crooks are after, and some general advice for staying safe online. We will discuss malware, ransomware, phishing, social engineering, tech support scams, and more. We will also discuss the importance of using good passwords.

Mike Ingber is the owner of Upward Business Systems, which has been in business since 1989 and provides expert, reliable, affordable computer consulting services to a large base of clients. Clients include town halls, libraries, schools, non-profit agencies, small and medium businesses of all sorts, home users, and senior citizens.  Mike received an M.S. Degree in Computer Science from Cornell University in 1979, and a B.S. Degree in Computer Science and Applied Math from Stony Brook University in 1977.  Mike has been a resident of Oxford since 1982, is happily married to Connie, and has two grown stepchildren.
