The Wilton League of Women Voters, the Wilton Library, and Good Morning Wilton will co-sponsor two events at which voters can meet candidates running for positions on the Board of Selectmen, the Board of Education, the Board of Finance, and the Planning and Zoning Commission. Both events will follow a modified town hall format and both will be moderated by League of Women Voters-certified, out-of-town moderators who will present questions submitted by the public in written form. The sessions will be held in the Wilton Library Brubeck Room.
Registration is highly recommended for each forum. Register online or call 203-762-6334. Pre-registrants should arrive by 6:20 to be guaranteed seating; wait-listed and walk-in registrants will be admitted after 6:20pm if space is available.
The October 22 forum will feature the candidates running for First Selectman, the other candidates for Board of Selectmen, and the Board of Finance. The October 29 forum will feature the candidates running for the Board of Education and Planning & Zoning. Both events will start at 6:30 and run back-to-back with a very brief break between the panels of that evening.
The sessions will provide community members an opportunity to meet the candidates who seek to serve and make critical decisions facing the town in the coming years; and to pose questions to them that will highlight their goals and priorities. Questions for the candidates may be submitted in advance through the Wilton League of Women Voters at firstname.lastname@example.org . Both events will be streamed live by Good Morning Wilton and will also be recorded and made available to community members afterwards.
